Production process of Vietnamese art embroidery paintings

Quat Dong village, Thuong Tin district, Hanoi is the cradle of embroidery, founded by Le Cong Hanh in the 17th century. The embroidery industry has existed since the village’s inception and has grown over time.

Before you can hold a finished needlework artwork in your hands, the artists must go through numerous production steps that call for precision and advanced technique, including: cutting, printing, embroidery, inspection (technical and finishing embroidery), washing, and packaging. Let’s explore those steps with Thien Di Embroidery.

1. Cutting

This might be regarded as the initial stage of producing a lace embroidery item. The production facility’s team of craftsmen, workers, and technical personnel determines how much fabric is needed based on the planned sample in order to produce the product in the right size and to the customer’s specifications.

2. Printing

The artisans of the craft village print the lines after obtaining the data from the cutting stage. This step calls for an extremely high degree of accuracy.

3. Embroidery

The skilled hands and sublimated souls of the residents of the traditional embroidered village are used by artisans and workers to create the needlework products at the craft village production plant.

4. Inspection

Craft villages place a high value on the inspection stage in order to produce embroidery products that are flawless in both technique and shape. The needlemen and technicians constantly look for and fix the smallest mistakes in the embroidery product, like excess threads or embroidery lines, using their knowledge and abilities.

5. Washing

The products will proceed to the laundry step following inspection. Here, the production facilities’ technical personnel will assist in stain removal before meticulously ironing every embroidered line.

6. Packaging

This is the final stage of an embroidery product. Because packaging not only makes shipping easier but also draws attention to the product’s embroidered lines and angles, it greatly contributes to the embroidery product’s beauty and appeal.

The artisans of Quat Dong craft village always put all their heart and soul into every needle and thread to create unique works of art, to decorate our living space. And Thien Di Embroidery is honored to be able to contribute to spreading these artistic embroidery works to friends around the world.
